5/5: I watched the mini-series Chernobyl and wanted to learn more about this horrific event. I know some of it was Hollywoodized at times, so I wanted to read accurate information. I read the excellent book Voices from Chernobyl. I tried to read Midnight in Chernobyl and could not get into the book. I will try another time. I decided to read Serhii Plokhy's and found it was a good choice. I. Serhii Plokhy provides a fast-paced, dramatic account of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant’s construction, the mishaps leading to the accident at the plant on Ap, in northern Ukraine, then a republic of the Soviet Union, and the dark days afterward, when emergency responders headed off yet greater catastrophes.
